Is it a virus or a different problem?

Slow performance alone doesn't prove a computer has a virus. Too little storage, ageing hardware or software faults can cause similar symptoms. Tell us what changed, any warnings you saw, and whether the problem affects one browser or the whole computer.

Suspicious warning asking you to call?

Don't call a number shown in an unexpected pop-up or let a stranger control your computer. If you already shared payment information, contact your bank directly using a trusted number. Computer cleaning cannot reverse a payment or secure an account on its own.

What should I do if I suspect an infection?

Avoid entering passwords or payment details on the affected computer. Contact us using another device and describe the symptoms. If you believe an account is compromised, use a trusted device to secure that account.

Will removing malware make my PC faster?

It may help if malware is causing the slowdown, but speed problems can also come from storage, memory or other faults. We can discuss whether repair or an upgrade is more appropriate.

What should I bring to the workshop?

Bring the affected computer and, for a laptop, its charger. Note any error messages and what happened before the issue began. Don't send passwords through the enquiry form.
